OSAP funding certificates for the Spring 2012 semesters will be available for pick up commencing Monday, May 7, 2012.
Students who have applied for and are eligible for OSAP funds for the May 2012 semester must register online to pick up their funding certificates by appointment only during April 23, 2012 to May 18, 2012. After May 18, 2012, appointments will not be required and OSAP funding certificates will be handed out on a first come/first served basis.
Access to begin booking appointments online starts April 23, 2012. Students must be in good academic standing and eligible to progress to the May 2012 semester in order to be eligible to pick up their OSAP funds. It is essential that students follow the registration instructions and adhere to the deadlines.
To access the online reservation system:
- Log into myStudent Centre using your Sheridan username and password
- Go to the Finances section and click Event Registration
- Click on the Register button beside OSAP Pickup (Please note: This option will only appear once Sheridan College has received the funds from OSAP)
- Choose a date and time from the list. You will be able to select one time slot only.
- Review the information for the selected session carefully. Click the Confirm button to finalize your choice, or click the Return button to make another selection.
- Print a copy of your appointment registration confirmation to present to Financial Aid at the time of your appointment.
Students must arrive for OSAP Pickup by the start time stipulated in their appointment. Late arrival may mean you are unable to receive your loan and require the scheduling of another appointment.
Students must be enrolled for the May 2012 semester to pick up their OSAP funds:
- Check the OSAP web site (osap.gov.on.ca) to confirm that there are OSAP funds for you and that your funding certificate is ready to release for the May 2012 semester.
- OSAP application takes approximately 6 weeks to process from the date your web signature pages or May 2012 OSAP application are received at Sheridan.
- When your OSAP funding certificate arrives at Sheridan you will receive an email notification to book your appointment to pick up your funds.
- Returning students from the September 2011 or January 2012 semester must be in good academic standing and eligible to progress to the May 2012 semester in order to be eligible to pick up their OSAP funds
- OSAP funds must be picked up if used to pay Tuition Fees to Sheridan.
- You will be required to present your Social Insurance Card and a valid government issued photo ID (valid Driver’s License, Passport, Ontario Health Card with photo ID, Canadian Citizenship Cards or Permanent Resident Card of Canada with photo) to pick up your OSAP funding certificate.
- Students must arrive 10 minutes prior to their appointment times.
- Space availability for appointments is limited.
