  • English Language Studies (ESL)

*All years of the Office Administration programs will be moving.

How many students will be affected by these moves?

When will these moves take effect?

These programs will run in their new campus location beginning in the fall term, September, 2019.

Why is this happening?

Business programs:
The HMC in Mississauga is already home to the majority of programs offered through the Pilon School of Business.   Moving the four business programs from Davis to HMC brings together complementary programs, while further consolidating Sheridan’s business programs in one location supports scheduling and space considerations.

HMC is strategically located between Brampton and Oakville and is surrounded by major corporate head offices – finance, banking, insurance, accounting – and is known as the supply chain capital of Canada, with many distribution and warehousing facilities located in the area and adjacent to one of the largest airports in the world.

This consolidation of business programs will provide greater employment opportunities for students, and positive industry partnerships for co-op, capstone projects and placements.

English Language Studies (ESL):
The ESL program is currently offered at three campuses.  In order to focus our offerings and cater to student needs, we will now be offering the program at two dedicated campuses, Trafalgar and HMC, for fall 2019.  As a result, any ESL students currently at the Davis campus will continue the program at the HMC campus in September.

All ESL applications to the Davis Campus for September 2019, January 2020 and May 2020 will be changed to HMC.

As an applicant is there anything I need to do with my application?

No, individuals with active applications do not need to make changes to their applications to indicate the new campus. Sheridan’s admission departments will make the necessary adjustments to each active application to include the change of campus.

I plan to start my ESL program in the spring 2019 at Davis. Where will my classes be?

Davis will continue to offer ESL classes in the Spring 2019 term. Students continuing in the program after the spring term will attend classes at HMC in the fall 2019 term.

I will have to commute from Brampton.  What is the distance between the Davis Campus and HMC, and what are my public transit options?

The Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga is located approximately 11 kilometres away from the Davis Campus in Brampton.

As of September, 2019, a Universal Transit Pass (U-Pass) will be instituted for all full-time Sheridan students.  The U-pass provides eligible students with unlimited ridership on public transit routes operated by the municipal transit authorities in Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville.  GO Transit is not included.

Information on routes and travel times is available here
For more details regarding the U-Pass, click here.

I will be commuting by car to HMC.  Where can I find parking and how much will it cost?

Permit parking is available for students at the Cineplex/IMAX Theatre Lot located at the northwest corner of Rathburn Rd. W. and Living Arts Dr.

Permit fees for the 2018-19 academic year are as follows:

  • One semester - $268.00
  • Two semesters - $495.50
  • Annual - $593.00

These fees are subject to change for the 2019-20 academic year.

Parking permits can be purchased online at http://epark.sheridancollege.ca

What facilities are available for students at HMC?

A new Student and Athletics expansion facility is projected to open at HMC in September, 2019.  The facility will feature fitness rooms along with an indoor running track.  It will also feature student lounges, food outlets, games areas, and rooms for student groups and clubs.

HMC has a full‐service Health Centre, providing physical and mental health services to Sheridan students. Physicians are available, by appointment. Registered nurses can be seen on a drop‐in basis. The campus also includes a multi‐faith Prayer Room.

Food services currently include a cafeteria featuring a range of menu options along with a Tim Hortons Express.  The campus also features a Starbucks.  These services will be enhanced with the opening of the Student and Athletics expansion facility.
