Sheridan is replacing alpha grades (A+, A, B, etc) with numeric grades in a significant overhaul of the College’s grading policy.

The new policy comes into effect for the Fall 2017 Term

You can view the new grading policy at https://policy.sheridanc.on.ca/dotNet/documents/?docid=961

The policy will apply to all students in all academic programs including courses, Degrees, Ontario College Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, Sheridan Certificates, Recognitions of Achievement and Certificates of Academic Achievement – in memoriam.

Current students and existing grades

Existing alpha grades will be grandfathered and will remain on the student's record. Students who are currently in a program will see existing alpha grades and new percentage grades posted against their records.

GPA values earned by students prior to the Fall 2017 will not be retroactively altered or adjusted in any way

Changes to GPA

Under the new policy there will be changes to grade point ranges. The GPA will still range from 0.00 to 4.00, however, the breakdown will be finer.
